What is Disto meter?
Leica DISTOs are precision Laser Distance Meters (LDMs). DISTOs connect to apps that organize and share measurements. Every DISTO is individually tested and comes with its own calibration certificate which provides a baseline record of the individual device’s accuracy on the day it left the factory.

How do you measure angles with disto?
Place DISTO against one wall and measure to the opposite wall for length. Immediately follow with width for square units or width and height for volume units. Always measure height last in the volume mode. DISTO will calculate the total area/volume units and display the result.
How does a laser Disto work?
In a nutshell, laser measurement tools are based on the principle of reflection of a laser beam. To measure a distance, the device emits a pulse of laser in the direction of an object, for example a wall. The time necessary for the laser beam to get to the object and go back determines the measurement of the distance.
What is a Disto used for?
The DISTO uses the its internal tilt sensor to calculate the angle and the distance between the shots, which means you can measure roofs accurately from the ground. The tilt sensors in the Leica DISTO™s can measure inclinations up to ±45°, or even have a measurement range of 360°.
How accurate is laser measurement?
The laser measure is accurate to within 1/8″ and measures to 50 feet. It makes this measuring tool more accurate, easier and faster than a tape measure.
